Why Roll Up Banners Can be Make or Break for your Trade Show

TSP-D01-1Roll up banners offers highly effective real estate that allows you to advertise your business, your product or service, and your brand. The amount of information that one can communicate via a roll up banner is surprisingly detailed which makes it an important resource for anyone looking to stand out at a trade show or exhibition. In addition to your point of sale materials, a roll up banner with the right design can generate an immediate impact pulling consumers towards you. It’s important to know how to use a roll up banner and what the most effective way to use a roll up banner to market your company. This is oftentimes the first thing that many members of your audience will see and you want to ensure that the right message is being communicated to them from the get-go. Here are five things to remember when selecting your roll up banner and to know when putting together the design for your roll up banner.

#1 Make sure your logo goes at the top.

The natural way to read a roll up banner is from top to bottom, side to side. Therefore your logo should have premier placement at the top of your roll up banner for all the world to see. The top of your roll up banner is the most important section. Use it to communicate your logo and the core message of your brand.

#2 Remember to design left to right.

Prospective customers do not have time to examine your roll up banner in depth. These are customers who do not necessarily intend to stop for you. This is why you need to catch their eye and nab them while you can. Designing your message top to bottom but also left to right ensures that a person can scan your roll up banner, absorb its message in less than a few seconds, and then decide on whether they wish to visit with your brand. Don’t busy it up. Keep it simple to your logo, relevant information, and words to an absolute minimum.

#3 Make sure images are the highest quality.

If you are going to put images on your roll up banner, make sure that they are the highest quality images possible with at least 300 dpi and saved as CMYK ready for print. If you take an image directly off the internet and input it into you design, you will see once you receive your finished roll up banner how poor it looks with a low quality image. If you do use an image – and many don’t – then make sure it is of a relevant quality. Speak to a representative to ensure that you have the right quality image if you are not certain.

#4 Use color but use it smartly.

Color is highly effective on a roll up banner. In many ways, color will be the most important element in capturing the audience’s attention. Remember though – use it wisely. There’s no reason to drape your roll up banner in tie dye. Be sure to utilize the colors that are right for your brand and consider simplifying to only one or two to keep the message simple and memorable to prospective clients.

#5 Make sure your contact info is on the roll up banner.

When designing your roll up banner, make sure that you have your company’s name and some of your contact information on it. By putting your contact information on your roll up banner, it allows those in attendance who may not have the time to speak with you directly to copy down your info. Include your website and contact number at bare minimum. It’s important to keep the design of your roll up as simple as possible but these two pieces of contact info can prove to be very helpful in securing sales with customers who you may not have been able to speak to at the trade show directly.

These five points are important to remember for designing your roll up banner. Whether this is your first trade show or simply your next trade show, you want to go equipped with the best resources possible to secure the maximum amount of interest for your business. A roll up banner is an important resource and lets those qualified customers know who you are in an instant. For your next trade show, consider a roll up banner as an addition to your marketing materials and know that you will be better served with a product like a roll up banner than the messy, uneven alternatives.
